Weert is a lovely and lively town, surrounded by nature, peace and space. With its nice shopping centre, particular monuments, educational museums and splendid nature reserves, Weert offers visitors many possibilities. Weert is also called the The doorway to Limburg and is therefore a perfect starting point for excursions in this area. Weert is near North-Brabant, South-Limburg and Belgium. For those who love culture, Weert is also an attractive place with canals and a visible structure of medieval streets. The Saint Martinus church is a unique hall church and is the centre piece of town. The nature reserves around Weert are part of the cross-border landscape called Kempen-Broek, a Dutch/Belgian region, and offer many sign-posted routes for hikers, (mountain) bikers and horsemen. It is also nice to take a ride on a horse drawn wagon.
